Denny to the Falkirk Wheel

Length: 4.7 miles

Route type: 1-way+public transport

Difficulty: Low

Start your journey in the town of Denny just outside of Falkirk and cycle to one of the area’s most instantly recognisable attractions, the Falkirk Wheel. This 7.5 km one-way ride follows quiet woodland trails and the Forth & Clyde Canal towpath for much of the route. However, there are some rougher paths near Denny High School, and you will cycle along some country lanes and busier stretches of road when you reach the town of Bonnybridge.

Join the canal towpath at Bonnybridge and enjoy an uninterrupted cycle along to the Falkirk Wheel for the final part of your journey. When you get there, if you still have energy left, you and your family can then explore all the family-friendly activities the Wheel has to offer. Look out for crazy golf, a playpark and Water Activity Zone, water zorbing and much more. Or relax in the visitor centre to recharge before taking a local bus back to Denny.
