Charlotte Dundas and Zetland Park Trail

Length: 2.4 miles

Route type: 1-way+public transport

Difficulty: Low

From the Kelpies, cycle to nearby Zetland Park in Grangemouth. Just under 4km long, this is perfect for families looking for an easy route to cycle.

Once you have picked up your bike, head towards the Kelpies. Turn right under the M9 and pick up the Charlotte Dundas Heritage Trail which celebrates the world’s first practical steamship. The Charlotte Dundas was built at Grangemouth using steel from the nearby Carron Iron Works. Leave the Trail at the first traffic crossing and find the Forth & Clyde Way and follow the route through Grangemouth before reaching Zetland Park.

Zetland Park is a historic, Victorian park that is popular with local residents and visitors of all ages.It has been refurbished recently and upgraded to make it more accessible. It now boasts a new play area, exciting pump track, sensory garden, restored war memorial and riverside paths amongst other attractions. There’s also a Learn to Cycle track where children can learn how to cycle on replica roads. Follow the flat, circular route around the park before dropping your Ebike off at the Forth Bike station there and, if you need to, get public transport back to the Kelpies.
