The Helix Loop

Length: 3 miles

Route type: Loop

Difficulty: Low

This 5km loop takes you through some of the lesser-known parts of the Helix Park. Pick up a Forth Bike at the Helix station, and then head along the canal to the Kelpies. Get up close to these magnificent steel structures created by artist Andy Scott as you cycle around each one.

From here, pass the huts behind the Kelpies and join the Helix North path. As you follow the banks of the River Carron, you’ll find a range of sculptures and art installations. In Abbotshaugh Community Woodland, look out for the interactive ‘Human Sun Clock’ sundial and the ‘Love and Kisses’ sculpture which pays tribute to the Roman heritage of the Falkirk area. Continue along the route until you reach the Abbotshaugh Bridge. Cross the bridge and take a right, cycling back in the direction of the Kelpies along the river. At Kerse bridge, cross back onto the south side of the river and go through the tunnel to get back to the Kelpies. Return the Forth Bike to the docking station.
