Father's Day at Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway

Join us on Sunday 18th June for a fun family day with steam and diesel hauled trains, a vintage vehicle display and a free vintage bus to and from Linlithgow.

Father's Day Travel Classes:

  • First Class Dining Car: Breakfast (10:00 service) and Afternoon Tea (12:30 & 15:00 services) options available.
  • First Class Compartments: your own private compartment for up to 6 passengers
  • Standard Class: Seat in a shared carriage.

Dining Car Menus:

  • Breakfast: A selection of warm pastries, fruit juice and tea/coffee (v).
  • Afternoon Tea: Hors d'oeuvres, selection of fresh sandwiches, cakes, and scones accompanied with jam & clotted cream. Served with tea/coffee and a glass of prosecco or bottle of real ale (adults only).

Children's Dining Fare Information

Dining options are for children age 18 months - 15 years old. Children under 18 months are free of charge but will not be allocated a seat or refreshments. They will be expected to sit on an adult's knee as the seating in the first-class dining carriage is not suitable for them to sit alone. They are welcome to share your purchased meals if you wish.

Train Times & Fares

We will be running both steam and diesel trains on Father's Day! Steam trains depart Bo'ness Railway Station at 10:00, 12:30 and 15:00, with two heritage diesel services running between the steam departures (exact timetable to be confirmed). Travel on the diesel services is included in the cost of a ticket for steam departures.  

  • First Class Breakfast: Adults £20.00, Children £12.
  • First Class Afternoon Tea: Adults £37.50, Children £20.
  • Standard Class: Private Compartments £60 (up to 6 passengers included), Adults £13, Senior £12, Children £7, & Families (2 Adults & 3 Children) £36.

Vintage Vehicle Display & Complimentary Vintage Bus Service

Vintage vehicles will be on display in Bo'ness Station Car park from 09:30 to 16:00.

A free bus service to and from Linlithgow will operate throughout the day (timetable to follow), with two additional FREE excursions running to Blackness and return at 11:25 and 13:55. A road run of our visiting vehicles around Bo'ness will depart from Bo'ness at 16:20.
