The Visit Falkirk Partnership

Falkirk Council is working closely with the Tourism Businesses within the Falkirk area on the development  and implementation of the Falkirk Area Tourism Strategy plus the establishment of the Visit Falkirk Partnership.

The key targets identified within the Strategy for the Falkirk area are:

  • To increase visitor expenditure in the Falkirk area by 20% over the next five years to 2020
  • To increase overnight visitor accommodation (serviced bedrooms and self catering units) in the Falkirk area by 20% over the next five years to 2020.
  • To develop a Falkirk Tourism Partnership to take ownership of, to review and to implement the strategy.

 

The Visit Falkirk Partnership 

The Visit Falkirk Partnership has now been launched and the aim of this group is to promote and encourage collaborative working in order to help businesses in the area grow successfully. The partnership is between key businesses in the area along with Falkirk Council, Falkirk Delivers and Visit Scotland.

This group will work with Falkirk Council to work on the development and implementation of the Falkirk Tourism Strategy.

Partner members

Currently the Partnership is chaired by Robert Mackintosh from First 4 Frames, vice chair is Craig Macdonald from  Wee Heroes and board members include Grant Turnbull Carr’s Hill Campsite, Ben Mardall The Helix/Falkirk Community Trust, Amanda Kilburn Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, Margaret Foy the Howgate Shopping Centre  and Falkirk Council, Falkirk Delivers and Visit Scotland for the provision of Secretariat and support.

A number of other local tourism businesses are involved including Vintage VW Campers, The John Muir Way, the Leapark Hotel, Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, the Corbie Inn and more
