The Scottish Cyclocross Series is Scotland’s premier cyclo-cross series. It was formed by racers in 2007 in order to promote, strengthen and maintain the spirit of cyclo-cross racing in Scotland.
Cyclo-cross involves off road cycling and mountain biking racing, normally lasting between 30 minutes and one hour. These races are open to all as a result of there being a variety of age categories, ranging from under 12 and youth races to junior, senior and veterans races.
A cyclocross course is normally around a mile or so long and involves a variety of surfaces. The circuit will usually involve tight twisting turns and will feature at least one section where the rider will be required to dismount and carry their bike.
